Local Restaurant Supports Local Artists

Oct. 5, 2006, Colorado Springs. Marc Erickson, owner and head chef of The Nook, a local restaurant in Northeast Colorado Springs, believes in supporting the arts and local artists. For seven years now, the restaurant has provided a venue for local artists to display, and hopefully sell, their artwork in an elegant but casual dining atmosphere. Patrons of the restaurant can not only enjoy a delicious meal, but view and appreciate the art of local artisans.

Currently three local artists have their art hanging at the restaurant. Showing his "Images of the Southwest" photographs is Joe R. Luciano, a long-time photographer and 10-year resident of The Springs. Barbara J. Davies is displaying her water media portraying still life, abstract art, and scenic landscapes. Also showing her work is Dottie Lirette with several water colors of flowers and other still life. This art will be on display at The Nook for about six months.

The Nook serves only breakfast and lunch - and art. It is located at 2821 Dublin Blvd. on the northeast corner of Union Blvd. It is open Monday 6:30 AM -10:30 AM, and Tuesday through Sunday 7:00 AM -1:30 PM. Call 719-265-8980.
